Aprilia's India-spec SXR160 maxi-scooter is launching soon in the Indian market. The maxi-scooter which was unveiled during the Auto Expo 2020 is a highly anticipated product from the Italian manufacturer.The SXR 160 follows a maxi-scooter like design language. It features an ergonomic riding position, oversize saddle, flat footboard, LED lights, multi-function digital display, ABS, 12-inch, 5-spoke alloy wheel rims, and will be available in a 160cc engine with 3V Tech FI Engine technology, compliant with the BS6 emission standards. Piaggio will also bring in the Aprilia SXR 125 after the launch of the SXR160.
The maxi-scooter will be powered by a 160 cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine from the Aprilia SR 160 scooter. The Aprilia SXR 160's motor will deliver a maximum power of 11 bhp at 7,600 rpm along with a peak torque of 12 Nm at 6000 rpm. The scooter is expected to share most of the components from the SR 160 like the chassis, brakes, and suspension. The Aprilia SXR 160 will be offered in 4 colour options – White, Black, Red and Blue.The Aprilia SXR 160 could be priced at around INR 1.25 Lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). Aprilia India is also planning to launch the 660 twins in India, namely the RS 660 and the Tuono 660.
